LAWN MONUMENTS
A beautiful headstone made to last provides a special place of remembrance for generations to come.
A gravestone, also commonly referred to as a headstone, serves as a lasting tribute to a loved one. Within this range, there are several styles to suit different preferences and cemetery requirements. The classic Lawn type offers a timeless and understated design, while the Chapel style provides a more distinctive look, featuring partial side panels and a roof-like top for added structure and presence. Each monument can be customised to reflect personal taste, incorporating a variety of stone colours, finishes, and inscriptions to create a meaningful and enduring memorial.
FULL MONUMENTS
A full memorial monument provides protection and lasting decoration to the entire site of burial.
Full grave monuments are available in a wide range of styles and can be crafted from various high-quality materials. At their most basic, they may consist of a kerb or surround enclosing the grave, paired with a headstone or plaque. More elaborate designs can include full stone coverings, raised features, and decorative elements, offering a more prominent and personalised tribute. Each monument can be tailored to reflect individual preferences, with a choice of stone colours, finishes, inscriptions, and additional features to create a meaningful and lasting memorial.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Answers to Your Questions
WHO CAN AUTHORISE A MEMORIAL PIECE FOR A GRAVE?
Cemeteries require that the Grant of Right of Burial holder is the only person permitted to authorise the placement of a headstone or other memorial piece.
WHICH TYPE OF MEMORIAL MONUMENT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Each cemetery and section has its own specifications for type and sizing. Knowing the location of the plot is a great place to start. For instance if your loved one is in the Geraldton Lawn section #2, a headstone or Chapel type is allowed. Whereas, the General sections will allow those, plus full-grave monuments.

If you have to consider a budget, headstones require the least material and time and are the more affordable choice.
WHAT SHOULD THE INSCRIPTION SAY?
This can be one of the most challenging choices for your memorial piece and is a personal choice.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRANITE AND MARBLE?
The biggest difference between granite and marble is their porosity. Marble is more porous than granite and is therefore more prone to staining and chipping. Granite is the strongest of all natural stone types.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT BEFORE ORDERING A MONUMENT?
Settling of soil should be considered if you would like a full-grave monument. Because a grave isn't compacted after burial, we allow 12 months from interment.
However headstones or chapel monuments in cemetery sections with existing concrete rows may be installed immediately.
WHAT FEES DO THE GERALDTON CEMETERY CHARGE?
The Geraldton Cemetery Board charge a permit fee for installations, alterations and removals.
We pay these fees on your behalf and itemise this within our invoice.

If the grant of right of burial on the grave has expired, that will also need to be renewed before any works can commence.
